IT IS TOO MUCH

"IT IS TOO MUCH" is an installation that I created and exhibited in 1991 at the Art Museum in Timișoara, Romania. Less than two years had passed since the Romanian Revolution, and the violence of the battles fought to overthrow the communist regime had awakened the population's appetite for shocking images, difficult to look at, which just two years earlier could not have been exhibited. The free press, flooded with "hot" topics, brought to the surface everything society found most obscene.
In this installation, which is a work from my youth, I attempted to experiment with the manipulative power that an artist can develop using the readymade technique. Absolutely all the objects used had entirely different purposes, and through their simple assembly, I tried to "tell" something entirely different. It seems I succeeded because the impact the work had in the exhibition led to receiving an award that allowed me to take a research trip to Paris.
